The two people on the Lovers are being blessed by their higher-self angel above them. Traditionally this was the card of a choice in love, and I still think it’s about a choice — just in life more broadly now. My rule of thumb: the new path is usually the right answer with this card.
A lot of the time it shows up when someone already knows, deep down, that they’re about to move in a new direction — they’re being divinely guided, they just can’t quite see it yet because clouds are blocking the view of that higher self. Sometimes the Lovers is really about needing to tap into that higher self.
