Another very misunderstood card — most people read this as lying, cheating, or stealing, but traditionally the golden cards in tarot are meant to be positive no matter what. He’s actually stealing these swords from an army so they can’t be used against him.
To me, this card always says there’s a better way to do whatever you’re working on. He’s carrying the swords by their tips, which takes real care — so it can also mean handling the fine details of something new correctly, like making sure you’ve got the right license or paperwork in place. And the polka dots on his cloak, like elsewhere in the deck, mean not taking things too seriously.
