- A never-ending nightmare
- Groundhog’s Day
- Getting out of the bed
A loop that keeps repeating. The instruction on this one is to end it rather than to sit in it.
I’ll be straight with you. I personally think the Nine of Swords is the worst card in the tarot. Not the Tower, not even close, and the reason is that he isn’t doing anything about it. The Tower at least moves. This is my card of Groundhog’s Day, living the same day over and over again, and the diagnosis underneath it is a sharp one. He’s in pain, but he’s not in enough pain to make a change. Suffering that has become tolerable is the actual problem here. So the instruction isn’t a gentle one. Get out of the bed. Take control of it. And when this card turns up in the good stuff it flips completely, because then it’s you getting out of Groundhog’s Day rather than living in it.
You’re breaking out of Groundhog’s Day. The loop is ending.
