This might be the most misunderstood card in the deck. Most people read it as heartbreak or a breakup, and it certainly can show up after one. But I really see the Three of Swords as a card of forgiveness.
Those swords are your own thoughts, your own truth — things that belong to you. You have to remove them from your own heart in order to heal. This is a card of healing, not just hurting.
