- Heartbreak with a clear remedy
- Forgiveness
- Removing the swords yourself
Something hurt. There’s a straightforward way out of it, and it’s forgiveness, done privately.
I’m not going to sit in the pain with this one, because there’s an exit and it’s a clear one. Heartbreak and sadness, yes. Then the remedy: we have to remove these swords from our own heart so that we can heal, and we do that through practicing forgiveness. Notice the swords are in your own heart, which is exactly why you’re able to take them out. The objection people have is that forgiving means talking to the person or letting them back in, and that isn’t what this asks for at all. We don’t have to forgive a person directly. We just have to forgive them in our heart. And I’d give yourself an actual window to do it in rather than leaving it open indefinitely.
You forgave it in your heart and the swords are out. Healing on purpose.
