The Star

The Star tarot card
1She is only dipping her toes in the water. This card wants her all the way into that pool.
2One foot on land and one in the water: half committed, which is the failure state here.
3The big star above her: something to aim at, and permission to ignore everything else.
4This one comes straight after the Tower in the deck, which is why it is the healing card.
The Get All the Way In CardShe’s dipping a toe in. The card is asking for the whole thing.
  • Hope, faith and renewal
  • Getting all the way in
  • A north star to aim at
In a reading

Hope and renewal, and then a demand. Half in is where this one goes wrong, so I would get all the way into it.

Deeper meaning

She is just dipping her toes in

The traditional reading is hope, faith and renewal, and I keep all of that. The part that is mine is what she is doing with her feet. She is kind of just dipping her toes in the water here, and she needs to get all the way into that pool. Half commitment is where this card goes wrong. The other half of it is having a north star, something to aim at, and then actually paying attention to that instead of all the other stuff going on around it. One warning I always give people with this card: be careful of thinking there are certain steps you absolutely have to take. Usually there aren’t. And when this turns up after the Tower, it is the healing.

In the good stuff

You’re all the way in, and the healing after a hard stretch is happening.
