Five of Swords

There are two readings here and I hold both of them. Separation and walking away is one, winning at all cost is the other, and I’ll say plainly that I think this is a negative card when you look at it from the winning at all cost perspective. But that’s the perspective being negative, not the card. What I always say is that really the Five of Swords is a card of taking a risk on something. In a love reading that becomes the entire meaning, take the risk and put yourself out there. And practically it’s often about cutting something out that’s been keeping you stuck, which is why it works so well next to the Eight of Cups.
