Death

death tarot card

  • Endings, transformation, transition
  • Even the things we thought would last forever can change
  • A light at the end of the tunnel
In a reading: something is ending so something else can begin — don’t fight the transformation.

Death is the death of everything you’ve known. The king lying dead underneath the rider says that even kings die — the things we think will last forever sometimes don’t, or we just outgrow beliefs we thought we’d hold forever.

There’s a white rose on the banner that represents the light at the end of the tunnel — you’re near the end of a transformation, and you can actually make it happen faster. The people begging for their life don’t want to look at the change coming; the child, though, is holding up flowers to the rider — the only one excited for what’s next. Sometimes this card is really about embracing that childlike curiosity instead of clinging to the status quo.
