Childlike energy, and I mean that as an instruction. Go and play. Often a gift or a turnaround comes with it.
Everybody starts this card at nostalgia and I start at the inner child. It’s childlike energy, and I use it to tell people to go and play rather than to go and reminisce. Innocence, nostalgia and the past are all in there and I’ll get to them second. The addition I find most useful is the gift. Usually the gift we receive from the Six of Cups is a turnaround, an opportunity to overcome some sort of challenge, so it isn’t only a warm card, it can mark a real reversal of fortune. And notice the children are inside the castle walls with a guard outside. That’s protected space. Play is safe in there.
