If the bridge doesn’t work, he builds a boat
Everybody reads this knight as impulsive and hot headed and unreliable, and I don’t. The Knight of Wands is the true builder in the tarot. He doesn’t necessarily know exactly how he’s going to do what he’s doing, but he is a builder, and if he builds a bridge and it doesn’t work, he builds a boat. That’s resourcefulness, not recklessness. It’s the same instinct as the Nine of Wands, changing the method instead of dropping the goal. He’s spontaneous and adventurous with it, and the adventure can be small. A day trip somewhere outside your comfort zone counts.
